Lead the project delivery of all cybersecurity and network security workstreams within the Silklink submarine cable system. Responsible for coordinating the deployment and integration of security infrastructure protecting cable landing stations, terrestrial backbone nodes, International Gateways (IGW), network management systems, and the submarine cable management network (SCMN). Ensure security hardening, perimeter protection, DDoS mitigation, and security operations capabilities are fully deployed and validated before each Silklink Ready for Service (RFS) milestone.
Security Project Planning &
Coordination
●
Develop detailed project plans,
schedules, and WBS for all cybersecurity delivery activities across Silklink
landing stations, terrestrial nodes, and IGW/IXP sites.

Define milestones and the critical
path for security platform deployment aligned with SLTE commissioning, IP/MPLS
backbone activation, and IGW go-live dates.
●
Manage security workstream
dependencies with DWDM, IP/MPLS, IGW, and facilities delivery teams.
●
Coordinate security deployment
sequencing across multiple landing station sites and international locations.
Landing Station &
Infrastructure Security Deployment
●
Manage deployment of physical and
logical security controls for cable landing stations, equipment rooms, and
beach manhole (BMH) access points.
●
Coordinate network access control
(NAC) and identity management system deployment for landing station and NOC
environments.
●
Ensure submarine cable management
network (SCMN) security including encrypted management interfaces, access
control policies, and monitoring integration.
●
Oversee deployment of
environmental monitoring and intrusion detection systems for landing station
physical security.
Network Security & Perimeter
Protection Deployment
●
Manage deployment of firewall
platforms, IPS/IDS systems, and network segmentation controls across all core
network domains.
●
Coordinate DDoS protection and
traffic scrubbing solution deployment at IGW and internet-facing network
layers.
●
Ensure security zone models,
inter-zone policies, and ACL architectures are correctly implemented across all
routing domains.
●
Manage VPN and encrypted tunneling
deployment for out-of-band management and inter-site operations traffic.
●
Track security platform acceptance
testing, policy validation, and penetration testing activities.
Security Operations & SIEM
Integration
●
Manage SIEM integration, security
logging activation, and SOC readiness activities for the Silklink network.
●
Coordinate security event
correlation rules, alerting policies, and incident response workflow
deployment.
●
Ensure security telemetry
collection (NetFlow, syslog, SNMP traps) from all submarine and terrestrial
network elements.
●
Oversee SOC handover, operator
training coordination, and operational readiness certification.
Security Compliance & Risk
Management
●
Ensure all security deployments
comply with ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ITU-T security
recommendations, and consortium security policies.
●
Coordinate pre-go-live
vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audit readiness
activities.
●
Identify and manage
security-specific project risks, issues, and change requests.
●
Maintain security compliance
documentation, test records, and audit-readiness packages.
Vendor Coordination &
Reporting
●
Coordinate with security vendors
for equipment delivery, professional services, and configuration support.
●
Manage security vendor SLA
performance and escalation for Silklink-specific deployment activities.
●
Prepare weekly and monthly
security workstream status reports, vulnerability tracking dashboards, and
compliance updates.
●
Provide regular updates to the
Senior Project Manager, consortium security leads, and client stakeholders.

Experience
● Bachelor's or Master of Engineering
in Cybersecurity, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or related discipline.
●
Minimum 7 years of experience in
network security project delivery, preferably in submarine cable or
carrier-grade environments.
●
Proven experience deploying
security infrastructure for landing stations, IGW facilities, and international
connectivity networks.
●
Multi-vendor security experience
(Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, Arbor/Netscout).
●
Knowledge of submarine cable
management network security and SCMN hardening practices.
●
CISSP, CISM, PMP, or equivalent
certifications are highly desirable.
●
Good communication, documentation,
and multi-stakeholder coordination skills.
